Blues, Blueberry Bingsoo's and Biltong.

Mmmhhhhh...... where do I begin?

I must confess I've been having a serious case of the blues (combined with the munchies) these past two weeks......  A very expected one at that.  Sadly, the expectancy didn't seem to bring with it any comforting.  Neither did many fallen chocolates, tinkies or nougats.... hahaha!

It goes something like this...

For the first time in little over a month our house is without visitors again.  We've had three different groups of guests during this time, and every person so uniquely brings their own flavour to the mix.  It's always so much fun to 'observe' our friends as they are submerged into all things Thai.

Johan's mother timed her visit specifically to be here for Johan's birthday.  We tried to spoil her as much as she did us- but she finally took the first prize when she (and Johan's dad, in his absence) treated us to a BEEF STEAK!!  It was the first time we've had beef steak (or any beef for that matter) since we've moved here more than a year ago, so I'm sure you can imagine how excited we were!

The birthday breakfast, steak and cake.

We also had a friend over from Cape Town that we met at ASM.  She works at a safe house for victims of human trafficking, and she met up with some similar ministries here to become part of an even bigger network.  She stayed only a few days and we were quite busy, so pardon the lack of good pictures please....  We enjoyed a very famous South-Korean dessert together, called Bingsoo.  It comes in many different flavours ranging from fruits to chocolate, here we had the Blueberry Bingsoo, it was sooooo yummy!!

Blueberry Bingsoo, coffee and great company,,

As if we weren't blessed enough to have 2 visitors in one month...... we had 2 more!!!  Our friend (and pastor) came to visit us along with her best friend.  They joined us in all our "ministry activities" and they were a great encouragement to us.  We had a great time together, and our house was constantly filled with laughter.

We were so surprised and blessed by all the gifts that accompanied them from Koinonia church-members, family and friends!!  Thank you so much to everyone who sent us gifts, hand-written letters and hugs, you really have no idea what it means to us!!

Sadly all things have to come to an end, and as from next week we are back to full-time language studies.  Please pray for our clear understanding and wisdom in the matter.

Blessings xxx
