Taking a Break 2013

Wow.... What an eventful couple of weeks!!  We ended off the first term with spiritual intensive classes, it was quite intense but a wonderful way to end off the term. And I believe we as Christians can never be reminded enough of surrendering ourselves and our lives completely to the authority of Jesus Christ.

After that, we headed back to Bronkhorstspruit for a lovely two and a half week break.  It was so great to spend some time with our most beloved family and friends whom we missed so much during these past three months.  We had so much fun and I don't think we have ever eaten as well as we had on this break... sigh ... the life of a missionary... haha!! Thank you so much to everyone who spent time with us, cooked for us and just down right spoiled us!!  Thanks again to mom and dad for providing us with such fabulous five star accommodation... I can only say, keep up the good work.. haha!!

Aaaaah.. bliss!!

Please excuse us, we had so much fun we completely forgot to take some pictures with everyone, so if you're not on one of these photos (which only very little of you are), please know it was not intentional and that we still love you... don't panic!!

A lovely visit to Dirk and Lyuda on the farm.

Zoey preparing her own pizza at Cuppacinos.

Toto the terrible (not me... the dog)!!

Playing the game "Mafia" at Michael and Melissa's house.. Watch out, sneaky Christians ahead!!! Mwuhahaha...

It was also a very special blessing to share Easter weekend with our church and the services were just so richly blessed with the tender, yet all powerful presence of God.  We were once again moved by the love the Koinonia family has for us as well as each other, and most importantly for God.  After all, it is the love of Christ in us that not only makes us different from the world, but also a light to the world.  Know that we always love you very much and continue to pray for you...

We also FINALLY got to see some lions in the Kruger Park.  We were seriously starting to think that lions in the Kruger was only a myth and that we needed to visit the Pretoria zoo for a potential "sighting".  But there we were early one morning when suddenly two male lions appeared from out of the bushes and started walking right next to the car, on the road for about 15 - 20 minutes.  It was so SCARY, those big yellow killer eyes... what a fierce animal!!!

All-right all-right all my curious friends!!  Here is the painting I've done of Nomonde Bengu (which is the first face I've ever tried to paint).  I think it's really safe to say that my mother, whom is a really really great artist, had to SERIOUSLY save the painting after it was in my hands.  So maybe I should rather say it was a joined effort... haha!!  Ps:  thanks again mom!!!

Johan himself has been quite busy, arranging touch rugby and football teams again....  But do not think for one moment that touch rugby does not mean getting off the field all bruised and scarred... I just don't know how they manage to do that. . . I think being a supporter is much more safer!!
